Still trying to kick this cold and was going to make another ginger smoothie this morning and then I saw a fresh pineapple staring at me. If I had a little more patience I would have chilled my pineapple in the freezer but I didn’t want to wait. Decided to make this one with coconut water for hydration and I hear it is called “healing nectar”. If you are looking for a sweet pineapple taste you will want to add more pineapple. I was going for more of a balanced taste with still a subtle bite of ginger, if you aren’t a fan of ginger I would stick to 1 tsp.
Ginger Pineapple Smoothie
1 serving
1c coconut water (used CoCos Pure Coconut Water)
1 1/2- 2 tsp fresh ginger, grated (if you aren’t a fan of ginger use 1 tsp, otherwise use 1 1/2 tps, or if you want a little bite and like ginger use 2 tsp)
1 scoop natural protein powder (used Vega One Natural)*
1 1/2 c fresh pineapple (frozen works great too)
glass of ice
Blend coconut water, ginger and protein powder in a Vitamix or high speed blender. Add ice and pineapple and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
You could also make this using a Vega Energizing Smoothie in Unflavored Natural.
