My youngest daughter is a green smoothie lover and named this one. She calls green smoothies Green Monster Smoothies and then when I said I was going to add some raspberries to it she said it is a Berry Green Monster Smoothie! This is a fun and delicious twist on your daily green smoothie. Of course mama has to have a protein version too!
Berry Green Monster Smoothie
makes 1-2 servings (one large, or two small, or in this case a medium and a small)
1c coconut milk, or non dairy milk of choice (used So Delicious Unsweetened Vanilla Coconut Milk)
1/2-1 banana, fresh or frozen (I prefer frozen)
2 big handfuls of organic spinach
1 scoop berry protein powder, vanilla is also delicious (used Vega One Berry)*
1c raspberries, fresh or frozen
Optional add ins I added to mine (not for kids): wheatgrass powder, gelatinized maca (used Navitas Naturals)
*Omit protein powder if for children or check with doctor before using.
In a Vitamix, or high-speed blender, blend coconut milk, banana, protein powder, and spinach until smooth. Pour into glass/ glasses, leaving room for the raspberry layer, and clean blender. Add raspberries to blender and puree until smooth, if using a high-speed blender you may still have some seeds. Pour raspberry puree on top of the green smoothie. Enjoy!
As a Vega Recipe Ambassador I received Vega products. Vega products used in creating this recipe were ones I had before I started my blog and becoming a Vega Recipe Ambassador. I use Vega not because it is given to me but because it has been my plant based protein of choice since before I started blogging. I only write about foods I love, my blog is an extension of my hobby to make fun healthy food creations for me and my family.
