For National Coffee Milkshake Day I made a Mocha Protein Shake. Perfect after a workout, in the morning, or in the afternoon to power you through busy long summer nights! I am an espresso/coffee lover, if you are you might be interested in my other coffee shakes, which you can find here.
UPDATED: I went to update this shake and take new photos but instead whipped up this Molten Chocolate Protein Shake pictured right here below you also may enjoy! It’s a healthy and delicious version of the Starbucks Molten Chocolate Frapp that is a limited edition drink they have for Valentine’s Day. Not only is this version healthy it is also dairy free, vegan, gluten free, and packed with protein!

Mocha Protein Shake
Makes 1 serving
3/4c almond or coconut milk, or non dairy milk of choice (used So Delicious Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk Plus, for extra protein)
2 shots cooled espresso
1 scoop chocolate protein powder (used Vega Sport Performance Protein Chocolate this time, but also use Vega One Chocolate and Vega Choc-a-Lot depending on day and my needs)
ice
1/3-1/2 chocolate bar, optional (Mocha Maca Chip Energizing Smoothie I use Vega Maca Chocolate Bar)
In a Vitamix or high-speed blender blend together milk, espresso, protein powder, and optional chocolate bar. Enjoy!
As a Vega Recipe Ambassador I received Vega products to use in creating this recipe. I use Vega not because it is given to me but because it has been my plant-based protein of choice since before I started blogging. I only write about foods I love, my blog is an extension of my hobby to make fun healthy food creations for me and my family.
