I like smoothies for so many reasons and I am always looking for and playing with new combos. I usually make smoothies in the morning when things are busy and crazy and or after a workout. This smoothie is great as a whole foods smoothie or as a protein version. I altar as needed to fit my needs and my day. When things get busy it is so quick to just grab food and go but make it count. Smoothies are quick and a great way to get in lots of nutrients when made with fresh fruits and vegetables.
Beet, Carrot, Pineapple, Apple Smoothie
Makes 1 serving
1 large beet, raw or pre-cooked
1/2-1 green apple, seeds removed (I use half when adding protein, a whole when just making a whole food smoothie)
2 carrots, or about 1 c chopped
1/2- 1 c fresh pineapple chunks
1/2-1 c water
ice, optional
*For protein version add 1 scoop protein. I added Vega One Chai to this one but I also like it with Vega One Natural and Vega Protein Smoothie Natural.
Blend everything together in a Vitamix, or high-speed blender, until smooth. Enjoy!
As a Vega Recipe Ambassador I receive Vega products, which I used as an option in this recipe. I use Vega not because it is given to me but because it has been my plant-based protein of choice since before I started blogging and some recipes are made with Vega products I purchase. I only write about foods I love, my blog is an extension of my hobby to make fun healthy food creations for me and my family.
