Monday! I’m excited, not only is it Meatless Monday but we’re HOME! After about 3 weeks of being “out of the kitchen” I’m back! While I love traveling with my husband and family it gets old quick sometimes. Eating out every night, and for most meals, not having the comforts of home, missing daily life, missing our puppies and friends, and not having a kitchen! Of course there are the good parts too like seeing the world, experiencing new places and things, trying new foods and restaurants, not having to clean or do laundry, and relaxing (well kind of because “relaxing” was so draining at times). So one thing I missed most was my smoothies and smoothie bowls, as well as BIG salads and all the grilled veggies. Yes you may have seen on Instagram we did find an amazing smoothie bowl shop and the girls and I went there often. We also got our daily juices the first week we were there, and a few times after that be we were no longer staying a few steps away from Pressed Juicery. I missed the creative part, the options, and making my own. So I thought it was fitting to post a smoothie bowl today for Meatless Monday. I’m not sure if I will one of these Black Smoothie Bowls today or an acai one (since I’m kind of already missing the ones from Cali)Β or turmeric one I’ve been craving lately. I hope you join me and my co host Deborah for Meatless Monday and share your creations below or maybe find a new one to try from the link ups below!

Black is the new green! The more goodness you can pack into a smoothie or smoothie bowl the better, right? I remember the days when I was craving a green smoothie and wanted that bright green flavor, and so many times ended up with an army green drab green color. One day I started embracing that and taking it to another level with black smoothies! It’s what you get when you take my favorite berry smoothies and mix them with a traditional green smoothie, and to make it even better add in all the superfoods! There are so many options you really can’t go wrong. This is just one of the versions but don’t let that stop you from coming up with your own. Add in chia seeds, wheat grass, hemp seeds, nuts, seeds, ect. Than add the toppings. The day I made this I was wanting coconut butter and wanted some color contrast so I went with white chocolate coconut butter and crushed dried strawberries the girls were putting on their smoothie bowls. When it comes to topping options, the sky is the limit!
