The girls picked cherries for their smoothies today! In the version I made for the girls I was going for more of a “cherry pie” flavor and one for me that is cherries with chocolate and a hint of amaretto!
Makes 2 servings or 1 large
1 1/2c coconut milk, or non dairy milk of choice (used So Delicious Unsweetened Vanilla Coconut Milk)
1 1/2- 2c cherries (used frozen cherries for this one)
1tsp mesquite powder (Navitas Naturals Mesquite Powder)
2tsp coconut palm sugar (Navitas Naturals Coconut Palm Sugar)
optional additional sweetener of choice depending on your cherries, one of my daughters added about 1/3 of a packet of Stevia In The Raw the other thought it was ok without
In a Vitamix or high-speed blender, blend everything together until smooth. Enjoy!
Cherry Maca Chip Protein Smoothie

1c non dairy milk (used So Delicious Unsweetened Almond Milk Plus)
1c fresh cherries
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (used Vega One French Vanilla)
2 drops amaretto, optional (amount will depend on how concentrated the one you are using is, remember a little goes a long way and you can always add more)
1/3-1/2 Vega Maca Chocolate Bar, optional cacao nibs can also be used
In a Vitamix or high-speed blender blend together milk, cherries, protein powder, amaretto, and ice. Add in Maca Chocolate and blend until chocolate is chopped. Enjoy!
As a Vega Recipe Ambassador I receive Vega products, which I used as an option in this recipe. I use Vega not because it is given to me but because it has been my plant-based protein of choice since before I started blogging and some recipes are made with Vega products I purchase. I only write about foods I love, my blog is an extension of my hobby to make fun healthy food creations for me and my family.
