Cranberry Orange Probiotic Smoothie

The holidays are officially over, even if we still have one more family Christmas this coming weekend. While the sweets and treats over the holiday I still tried to keep things balanced. Especially during the week as much as possible and I still added in our healthy smoothies and probiotics. Probiotics make a huge difference in our gut health and since that is where most of your immune system it’s even more important this time of year. Of course this year that wasn’t good enough as we were under the weather and got the cold stuff going around. We rarely get sick and thankfully didn’t get it as bad as it could have been but still it lingered for over a week leaving us not at 100%. It was our kind of balance over the break, especially during the holidays. While we usually go for our hot cocoa and coffee with donuts this Cranberry Orange Probiotic Smoothie pairs perfectly with Gingerbread Donuts. So quick and easy but sophisticated enough for a holiday brunch.

I had planned on posting this recipe last week but decide to take a much needed break as even on vacation and everything else we have going on I don’t usually take a break from the blog. I had posts planned but with everything going on and wanting to be present and enjoy all the moments with family I didn’t post the Friday before Christmas. I said I would be posting for Meatless Monday so I did write up a post Christmas night but knew while writing that post I needed to take the rest of the week off. Feeling under the weather, wanting to spend time with the family, and I just needed to relax and take a mental break.

Cranberry Orange Probiotic Smoothie

Luckily this healthy delicious Cranberry Orange Probiotic Smoothie is still in season! This smoothie, along with other probiotic smoothies, will still be made well into the new year. With the probiotics and vitamin C they will be making regular appearances the next few weeks for sure for breakfast. Of course we will mix things up, maybe making them with raspberries, blueberries, or strawberries. Pretty much whatever berries the girls are feeling and we have all of them in the freezer right now. I’m still all about the cranberries and I still have some in the freezer from my CranFest trip in September so I will be blending those up along with all the citrus fruits and lots of ginger. It’s just so good and cranberries are packed with antioxidants.

Cheers to a healthy happy new year and starting it off right! What are your health or eating goals for the year? I have lots of things on my list to share on the blog but like I’ve said before I usually share 3 recipes a week (sometimes more, on rare occasions less) and I make at least 21+ meals a week. Some are the same, some different, many variations, but I try to decide which to share based on what my family and I love along with what I think my readers want to see. I will see page views go up on smoothies but than I worry posting so many people get sick of them. I try to have variety of recipes, share what I’m good at and what we love, yet want to share what you want to see. So have a request drop it in the comments or feel free to message me anytime here or on social media.
