As I stated yesterday we got this crazy idea last week to create 5 smoothie bowls to represent the Olympic rings and count down to the Summer Olympics in Rio! Today we have the second ring which is black and a Dig Deep Smoothie Bowl!
What should have been one of the easiest smoothies to make since lately I’ve embraced the black smoothie and said black is the new green when it comes to smoothies it was giving me a little trouble. I wanted to again keep it different than ones I have posted and I was also trying to keep it simple so I didn’t want to add maqui powder or sprulina powder. I did want to keep the acai since it is so good and easy to find at stores like Whole Foods, some Costcos, and many grocery stores. I also went with chia in this one as it is so filling, a great source of healthy fats and omegas, and makes for a thick smoothie bowl if you soak it ahead of time. If you don’t have time to soak it you can just add it to your smoothie and add more frozen berries to reach desired thickness. This smoothie bowl has a delicious chocolate flavor and you would have no clue it’s packed with greens, protein, and an abundance of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals!
This is another smoothie bowl that’s great for breakfast and that’s why we went with Wild Friends Chocolate Coconut Peanut Butter and Seven Sundays Cocoa & Coconut Muesli for toppings! Doesn’t get much better than a healthy chocolate smoothie bowl for breakfast, especially on a hot summer day!
Only 3 days until the Olympic Opening Ceremony! Come back tomorrow for another fun Olympic themed smoothie bowl and countdown to Rio with us!
