I have always been a fan of anything chocolate, peanut butter, banana! Elvis, whose birthday just happens to be today, has a famous sandwich that has been made into many things that is peanut butter, banana, and bacon but since I am not a fan of bacon and don’t eat it you won’t find it in these oats. Of course I know many bacon lovers out there so if you are one of them and add it to these oats you will have to report back and let me know how it is. I know there is even vegan bacon made of coconut out there but I haven’t made it, I really should try it since my oldest always says “I want to be a vegan or vegetarian that eats bacon”.
I made two versions of these oats, and I am sure many spin offs as well since I just love the combo! You can do overnight oats or warm oats. I use Vega Protein Smoothie in these which is safe for the family but you can also do raw cacao and sweetener of choice if you wish. With the overnight I usually just cut up fresh banana and with the warm oats I will roast my bananas, yum!!
Elvis Protein Oats (Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Banana Protein Oats)- Overnight version
Makes 1 serving
1 c plus 2-3 TBSP non dairy milk of choice (used So Delicious Unsweetened Almond Milk Plus, for extra protein)
1 scoop chocolate powder (used Vega Choc-A-Lot Protein Smoothie)
1 TBSP organic chia seeds
1/3 oats, gluten free
1-2 TBSP peanut butter (used our favorite Peanut Butter & Co Smooth Operator)
1/2- 1 banana, sliced
1 TBSP sweet cacao nibs (Navitas Naturals), optional
In a container mix together oats, chia seeds, and 1 cup of milk, cover and refrigerator overnight. In the morning add the chocolate protein and additional milk as needed to desired consistency, I usually add about 2 tablespoons. Top with peanut butter, sliced bananas, and optional cacao nibs. Enjoy!
Elvis Protein Oats (Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Banana Protein Oats)- Warm oatmeal version
Makes 1 serving
1/2 oats, gluten free
1 TBSP organic chia seeds, optional
1 scoop chocolate powder (used Vega Choc-A-Lot Protein Smoothie)
1-2 TBSP peanut butter (used our favorite Peanut Butter & Co Smooth Operator)
1/2- 1 banana, sliced
1/2- 1 c non dairy milk if needed to reach desired consistency (used So Delicious Unsweetened Almond Milk Plus, for extra protein)
1 TBSP sweet cacao nibs (Navitas Naturals), optional
Turn on oven broiler to high. Put a piece of foil down on a cookie sheet and place banana slices on top of the foil. Cook oats on the stove (my prefered method) or in the microwave per package instructions. Place the bananas in the oven on the top rack under the broiler and roast until they start to get golden brown, a few minutes, watching carefully. When oats have finished cooking remove from heat and stir in optional chia seeds and chocolate protein powder, adding milk to reach desired consistency if needed. Top with peanut butter, roasted sliced bananas and optional cacao nibs. Enjoy!
As a Vega Recipe Ambassador I receive Vega products, which I used as an option in this recipe. I use Vega not because it is given to me but because it has been my plant-based protein of choice since before I started blogging and some recipes are made with Vega products I purchase. I only write about foods I love, my blog is an extension of my hobby to make fun healthy food creations for me and my family.

Those both look SO good! I love chocolate, peanut butter and banana together! I’ve never had roasted bananas, but now I’ll give it a try! 🙂

Thank you! Yes you will have to try it with roasted bananas and let me know what you think! I love it both ways but the roasted bananas makes it seem like a dessert or indulging to me!

Thank you! This is the new Vega Protein Smoothie, not the Vega One, but I love both! If you haven’t tried the new protein smoothies you have to give them a try! I haven’t tried the Vanilla Chai (which is one of my favorites) with cacao nibs in oatmeal but I have in shakes. I bet it’s delicous and I will have to give it a try!
