Goji Berry Protein Shake

 

 

I find that people either like or hate goji berries, I personally like them. They are an antioxidant superfood that I like to add to trail mix, oatmeal, cookies, shakes, or just grab a handful with some savi seeds as a snack. Packed with vitamins, minerals, and micronutrients including carbohydrates, protein, healthy fats and soluble fiber they are a great addition to any diet. They even make chocolate covered goji berries that are delicious. This shake is one I like to enjoy after a morning workout.

 

Goji Berry Protein Shake

Makes 1

1 c almond milk, or non dairy milk of choice (used Delicious Almond Milk Plus for added protein)

1 Medjool date, pitted

1 TBSP raw cashew butter or almond butter (used cashew butter this time)

2 TBSP Goji berries (Navitas Naturals)

1 scoop vanilla protein powder (used Vega Performance Protein Vanilla for shake pictured, or Vega Viva Vanilla Protein Smoothie and Vega One French Vanilla depending on needs when making it)

1 tsp gelatinized maca (Navitas Naturals)

ice

 

In a Vitamix, or high-speed blender, blend everything together until smooth. Enjoy!

  1. Cashew berry is my latest obsession, so I LOVE this recipe!:) YUM! I have begun using goji powders instead of the whole berries since they’re lower in sugar and just love the taste they add to a smoothie:) Thank you for sharing this recipe- so delish!

      Thank you! Cashew butter and dates are a weekness of mine. If you were to look in my fridge I usually have the two sitting right next to each other. 😉 I haven’t tried goji powder yet. I love the berries and had thought about getting the powder but liked the texture it gave to my shakes/smoothies so I didn’t get it. I may have to check out the sugars and maybe grab some.
