It’s March and the Shamrock Shakes are out and if you are sitting at a Starbucks you will probably see more than the usual Matcha Frappuccino being sipped. The one month where it is even cooler to be sipping on a green drink. Green drinks, usually green smoothies or green juices, seem to be a constant in our house. Being a Matcha fan, love a Matcha Latte made with homemade vanilla almond milk sprinkled with cinnamon, I decide to make a healthier and tastier version of a Matcha Frappuccino, a Matcha Milkshake if you will. Thick, rich, and topped with a big scoop or two of Coco Whip, Coconut Whipped Cream! If making this for a dessert or treat I highly recommend making it with vanilla coconut milk ice cream, or vanilla ice cream of choice. If making it for breakfast or looking for a whole food option it is also delicious and can be made with frozen banana or avocado!
What is your favorite green drink?
Matcha Milkshake
Makes 1 serving
1c almond milk, coconut milk or non dairy milk of choice (used So Delicious Unsweetened Vanilla Coconut Milk)
1/2c vanilla coconut milk ice cream (used So Delicious Vanilla Bean Coconut Milk Ice Cream)*
2 tsp matcha powder
1/2c ice, optional
optional sweetener of choice, to taste
big scoop, or two, of coconut whip cream (used So Delicious Coco Whip Lite)
*You can also use frozen banana or avocado if desired.
In a Vitamix, or high-speed blenders, blend together almond milk, matcha powder, and ice cream (or banana/avocado) until smooth. Add additional sweetener of choice and ice if desired and blend. Pour into a glass and top with coconut whipped cream. Enjoy!

Thank you! Just missing the mint but you could add it if you wanted.

Love how festive this drink is! I haven’t tried matcha yet, but am definitely tempted to since it seems to be popping up everywhere. I think my favorite green drink is a simple green smoothie packed w/ spinach.

I highly suggest trying it but it isn’t for everyone and has a lot to do with how it is prepared. However it has lots of health benefits so you could always just add it to smoothies. A simple green spinach (and banana for me or avocado) always hits the spot, nice choice!
