Orange Cinnamon Lassi with Vega One (protein)

Life gets crazy sometimes and as much as we would love to sit and enjoy some yogurt and some fresh fruit we are busy. I had one of those mornings and I just wanted yogurt with fresh oranges sprinkled with cinnamon but didn’t want to rush to eat it so I made a Lassi. A Lassi is a yogurt based drink, which I don’t usually make for myself but make often for the girls. I wanted mine thick so I used ice instead of water and added Vega One.

Orange Cinnamon Lassi/ Protein Smoothie

Makes 1 large or 1 smaller glasses

6 ounces of yogurt (used So Delicious Greek Style Vanilla Coconut Milk Yogurt)

zest of half an orange

1 orange, peeled*

1/4-1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 scoop plain or vanilla protein powder for protein version (used Vega One Natural for mine, omitted for the girls)

1 c ice

2 TBSP non dairy milk (used So Delicious Vanilla Coconut Milk), if needed for blending

*I used a whole peeled orange in my Vitamix if using another blender or you don’t want pulp you can use juice from 1-2 oranges.

In a Vitamix, or high-speed blender, blend yogurt, orange, orange zest, cinnamon, ice, and protein powder together until smooth. Adding a little non dairy milk if needed. Pour into a glass/glasses and sprinkle with a little cinnamon. Enjoy!

As a Vega Recipe Ambassador I receive Vega products, which I used as an option in this recipe. I use Vega not because it is given to me but because it has been my plant-based protein of choice since before I started blogging and some recipes are made with Vega products I purchase. I only write about foods I love, my blog is an extension of my hobby to make fun healthy food creations for me and my family.
