Chilly temps call for warm cozy drinks like this Pumpkin Spice Turmeric Latte! This drink especially hits the spot at night to unwind, after a workout when I’m sore to help with inflammation, or anytime I just want to relax.

I’ve been loving Turmeric Golden Milk for years. First adding turmeric to smoothies and smoothie bowls, then making turmeric milk to sip hot or cold or add to my smoothies. I’ve talked about why I love turmeric for so many reasons over and over so I won’t go into that you can read here, or one of my many other posts. If you’re looking for more anti-inflammatory turmeric recipes here are “a few” options from salads, smoothies, smoothie bowls, baked goods, ect. One of my favorites is a Bee Sting Turmeric Latte. It’s like a traditional turmeric latte with a sweet and spicy twist. Wanting to switch things up and PSL being “in season” it was perfect. I’ve been sipping these for a couple weeks, shared a sneak on Instagram, and finally I’m sharing it. So excited to share it I’m even sharing it while trying to pack up and head out for MEA weekend. Where I’m probably going to need one after days of hiking.

I know I said I wasn’t in a pumpkin craze mood this year like previous years but this is one of the two recipes I said would be coming, the other being a pie because my family loves pumpkin pie and I had this one dreamed up for months and months. I think the reason I like pumpkin in this is the turmeric, spices, and my love for turmeric lattes/golden turmeric milk.

I like to make this Pumpkin Spice Turmeric Latte a couple different ways. Starting with the staples for a turmeric latte and PSL well minus the coffee. Starting with dairy free milk, turmeric powder, fresh ginger (optional if you aren’t a big ginger person), cinnamon, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, and an optional drizzle of honey. From there you think of it like you would a latte or any drink you make it to suit your tastes and needs. If I’m making it in the morning before a workout I might add a shot of espresso otherwise just stick to the basic recipe or add in a little maca powder. Post workout I like to make the standard recipe and use Ripple Plantbased Protein Milk. When I want to relax I might add in a little reshi or ashwagana or just make the standard recipe and use a rich homemade nut milk or cold pressed Juice So Good Cashew Bliss (cashew milk). If you like to add collagen to your coffee you can also add that into this latte.

I know I’m going to hate this as soon as I type it out but as I sip a Pumpkin Spice Turmeric Latte and write this out I’m dreaming, more like picturing, of snuggling up while the snow is falling with a mug of this in hand. I know crazy talk because I’m not a fan of snow. I like watching it but I’m a freeze baby and I don’t like driving in it. Snow is not suppose to happen in October but I remember the Halloween blizzard as a kid. We are headed north this weekend and I will cry if it snows, ok not cry but I think I’d be upset but I’d make the most of it and we’d have fun!

Instructions
  1. There are a couple of ways to make this. If you normally make turmeric milk and keep it in the refrigerator (I use it within 48 hours) you can do that and then add the pumpkin and pumpkin spices when you make it. When I do that I warm the golden milk with our frother on the espresso machine and then blend in the pumpkin and spice.
  2. The other two options are to whisk the milk turmeric, ginger, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, and cinnamon in a saucepan on the stove. Heat until it just comes to a boil and then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Pour into mugs, adjust sweetness if desired, drizzle with honey and sprinkle with pumpkin pie spice.
  3. Or heat everything except the pumpkin puree and add the golden milk and pumpkin puree to a Vitamix and blend with optional add-ins (maca, reishi, collagen, ect as desired) until smooth and frothy. Pour into a mug, adjust sweetness, drizzle with honey and sprinkle with pumpkin pie spice. Enjoy!
Recipe Notes

I like to make this with Ripple for added protein or a homemade or cold pressed nut milk like Juice So Good Cashew Bliss.
Customize as desired adding in optional add-ins like maca, reishi, ashwagandha, collagen, coconut oil, espresso, ect.
