I had some very ripe pears in the fridge that needed to be used up and I decided to whip up this Spiced Pear Protein Shake for breakfast. I decided to freeze up the remaining pears, so they wouldn’t go bad and go to waste, to make this shake later.
Spiced Pear Protein Shake
Makes 1 serving
1 ripe pear cored and peeled (removing peel is optional)
1 c almond milk, or non dairy milk of choice (used So Delicious Unsweetened Almond Milk Plus, for extra protein)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (used Vega One French Vanilla)*
1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 TBSP chia seeds, optional
ice, optional
*You can also use Chai protein powder, such as Vega One Vanilla Chai, just omit or adjust ginger and cinnamon to taste.
In a Vitamix, or high-speed blender, blend everything except the chia seeds until smooth. Pour into glass and spinkle with chia seeds. Enjoy!
