The girls are really into berries, stars, and red, white, and blue with it being the week of 4th of July. When they asked if they could make Star Sandwiches I couldn’t say no? I love that my girls like “art in the kitchen”! You can make this for lunch or toast the bread and it makes a delicious healthy breakfast.
Star Sandwiches
Makes 1 sandwich
2 slices of bread (we used Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted Whole Grain Bread)
2TBSP peanut butter or almond butter (one used PB&Co Smooth Operator the other used MaraNatha Almond Butter)
1/3c fresh blueberries
1/3c fresh strawberries, sliced
Using a cookie cutter or knife cut stars out of bread, we used 2 different size star cookie cutters. Spread peanut butter or almond butter on your stars. Arrange berries as you wish on top of the peanut butter/almond butter. There will probably be some extra berries but if your kids are like mine they will be eating them as they are making their Star Sandwiches. Enjoy!
