Calling all ginger and green smoothie lovers!! Anyone else out there love green smoothies and or ginger? I am a big fan of both and this is one of my go to green smoothies that always hits the spot! Ginger can go savory or sweet and adding the perfect balance of sweet like in ginger ale is a thing of beauty. In this smoothie you still get your ginger flavor but the pineapple cuts through and balances it out perfectly, add in a little cinnamon and it is perfect! To step it up a notch I like to add a scoop of my favorite protein powder in vanilla or chai flavor and what I use depends on my needs for when I make it or what I am feeling. Sometimes I just want a good dose of healthy fats and adding in avocado does that and makes it extra creamy and delicious! This smoothie never disappoints and I always feel better after drinking one, except for the fact that my cup is empty and I wish it wasn’t.

Sweet Green Ginger Smoothie
Makes 1 serving
1c frozen pineapple chunks
1c almond, or non dairy milk of choice
1 big handful of spinach
1″ chunk of peeled ginger
spinkle of cinnamon
One of the following:
1 scoop vanilla or chai protein powder, optional (use Vega Protein Smoothie, Vega One, or Performance Protein based on my needs when making it)
1/2 an avocado, optional
In a Vitamix, or high-speed blender, blend milk, spinach, ginger, cinnamon and protein powder or avocado if using, until smooth. Add in frozen pineapple chunks and blend smooth. You can add everything all at once but depending on blender, if not using a Vitamix, you may end up with chunks or powder clumps on sides of the blender which is why add the pineapple after. Enjoy!
