The sun will come out tomorrow, tomorrow…..
There are some days I am so sore after a new workout and I feel like I can’t give it my all the next day. You know those time you workout and you don’t feel it until a day or two after? The ones were you go to bed feeling just fine but the next morning you are so sore you hobble down to the kitchen walking like you are 80 years old. I have learned a lot over the past few years when it comes to recovery and pushing myself too hard. One of my favorite ways to relax and unwind and help my body recover is enjoying Turmeric Tea, Turmeric Ginger Lemonade, or Turmeric Milk (I make mine with homemade vanilla almond milk or coconut milk and do not add pepper). Turmeric, and ginger, are both great for inflammation and recovery and I find sipping them at night very relaxing. There are days though when I have a hard workout early in the morning before a full day and that is when I enjoy a turmeric smoothie to help with fatigue, soreness, and inflammation. Not only is this smoothie very bright in color, like the sun, but it also helps your body recover and after drinking it you will help your body recover and be ready for the sun to come up and tackle tomorrows workout!
What is your favorite way to prevent soreness and improve recovery between workouts?
The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow Turmeric Smoothie
Makes 1 serving
1c water or non dairy milk of choice (used water)
1 whole large carrot, or about 1/3c grated carrot
1 large orange, peeled (used a Cara Cara Orange)
1/2 tsp fresh grated ginger
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1 scoop natural or vanilla protein powder, optional (I like Vega Sport Performance Protein, Vanilla when adding protein to this one, not pictured)
ice as desired, optional
In a Vitamix, or high-speed blender, blend everything together until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
Any good ideas planned for this weekend?

While I do receive some Vega products from time to time, which I listed as an option in this recipe, I do purchase much of it on my own. It has been my plant-based protein of choice since before I started blogging. Even though most Vega products used are purchased by myself I do add this disclaimer. I do not make any money off any Vega sales or posts. I only write about foods I love, my blog is an extension of my hobby to make fun healthy food creations for me and my family.
